Updated: Feb 21

Thomasville Community Development Corporation (TCDC) Farm-to-Table Program

The Thomasville Community Development Corporation (TCDC) is excited to announce the beginning of an effort to developed a Farm-to-Table program aimed at delivering plant-based meals to neighbors in underserved communities. This initiative is made possible through a generous $100,000 grant from Drawdown Georgia. "Drawdown Georgia is a research-based initiative launched in 2020 that was born from a multi-university collaboration funded by the Ray C. Anderson foundation.'

Why Plant-Based Meals? A diet rich in plant-based foods reduces the emissions associated with meat production. By encouraging locally sourced food options, this program will supports both environmental and nutritional goals, such as

  • A 2,500-calorie-per-day diet.

  • Daily protein requirements.

  • A preference for locally produced food whenever possible.

Through this initiative, TCDC aims to foster healthier eating habits, strengthen local food systems, and contribute to a more sustainable future for all.
